Well it all started with the weird idea of picking up an instrument.
The drums looked good to me, but after 5 minutes of hitting it with 2 sticks I gave up.
And because the only other instrument in the room was a bassguitar, that was where it started, at a age of 13.
I practiced a lot, formed several bands with friends, and bought myself with some help from my parents,
a acoustic guitar for general music study, and a little later a bassguitar, my first one.
I took guitar lessons for a year, and after that year, I signed up for bassguitar lessons, from Mark Dekkers.
My first years in music were very influenced by rock music. After about three years it changed a bit to funk, jazz and fusion.
By now I like almost every style, if it's played well and if it's sounds convincing. And I'm also playing almost every style,
I had gigs with rock, latin, pop, cover, jazz, fusion, funk and gospel formations.
Besides the bassplaying I love to compose and arrange songs. And also in the way that I don't feel restricted by any style
or type of song
At the moment I'm studying at the Artez Conservatorium, following bass & double bass lesson from Henk de Ligt.
I had the luck to play with great artist such as: Aïrto, Sticks, Typhoon, Ben Gerritsen, Heleen Shuttevear. And I hope to share the stage with a lot more people in the future.
